1-4-22 THOUGHTS

The reason for the Law of Moses is discussed in Galatians chapter 3.  Paul makes it plain in Romans 3:     Rom 3:9  What then? Are we better than they? Not at all; for we have already charged that both Jews and Greeks are all under sin;  10  as it is written, "THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE;   Rom 3:23  for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,   THAT MAN NEEDS A SAVIOR IS EVIDENT!  Rom 5:6  For while we were still helpless,  at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.

Gal 3:19-29    Why the Law then? It was added because of transgressions, having been ordained through angels by the agency of a mediator, until the seed would come to whom the promise had been made. 20  Now a mediator is not for one party only; whereas God is only one. 21  Is the Law then contrary to the promises of God? May it never be! For if a law had been given which was able to impart life, then righteousness would indeed have been based on law. 22  But the Scripture has shut up everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. 23  But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, being shut up to the faith which was later to be revealed. 24  Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith. 25  But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. 26  For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27  For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28  There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29  And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise.
Eph 2:3-5   Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.  4
But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,  5  even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
Col 2:12-14    having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God,
who raised Him from the dead. 13  When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, 14  having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

My Prayer:
O God, may we always see your goodness and grace in Christ Jesus as we examine our sinful selves.  If you, O Lord,  were to number our transgressions, who could stand?  We are yet without strength, save in Christ Jesus.  Your loving gift is our answer, our hope, our salvation, and. our  eternity.  Help us to be always clothed with Jesus.  May we truly understand what it means to be heirs according to promise.   We praise and thank you O God, for your eternal plan to save us.         In the name of Jesus our Savior,      Amen
